Eating Disorders

Eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia, and binge-eating disorder impact people of all ages. Someone suffering from an eating disorder may start with regulating their food intake by eating smaller or larger amounts; however, this regulation starts to take control of the individual’s life. People may also increase their exercise and activity levels as the disorder progresses. Severe concerns over weight management, body image or food intake signifies that an eating disorder may be present, with individuals experiencing psychological, physical and social issues as a result of the disorder. If left untreated, these disorders present a serious medical threat.

Eating disorders are multi-faceted, requiring a team approach to treatment. Anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders are often co-occuring with an eating disorder. At Therapeutic Oasis, treatment options include individual and family therapy, nutrition therapy, meal support, and group therapy.   Comprehensive treatment programs are available for clients.
