What types of providers work from your office? How is your practice different from others?
Our practice consists of licensed psychologists, licensed mental health counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, and a licensed and registered dietician. Therapeutic Oasis of the Palm Beaches is a DBT trained facility, experienced in treating mood and eating disorders. Unlike other offices where providers work individually, our experienced practitioners work as a team – taking each client’s unique needs into consideration.
Therapeutic Oasis also has registered interns that see clients at a reduced rate. Our interns have graduated with their advanced degrees and are working toward professional licensure. Interns are able to provide individual, couple, and family therapy sessions, as well as DBT coaching skills. Registered interns are fully trained in DBT and work as part of Therapeutic Oasis’ team. Please note: we are unable to submit out-of-network claims for intern services.
How does the intensive outpatient program at Therapeutic Oasis work?
The Oasis offers intensive outpatient programs for treatment of eating disorders, trauma, PTSD, and complicated grief, as well as DBT skills groups. Our providers and care support specialists work as a team to customize intensive outpatient programs appropriate for each client. Programs may include in addition to individual treatment, couples and family therapy, expressive therapy, group therapy, and holistic services such as yoga, meditation, healing touch therapy, and massage.
What is DBT? How is your DBT program structured?
DBT, or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, is a principle driven approach to therapy pioneered by Dr. Marsha Linehan in the 1970s. DBT is an empirically supported treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as mood and anxiety disorders, addition, and eating disorders.
Therapeutic Oasis of the Palm Beaches adheres to strict DBT protocol outlined by Behavioral Tech, LLC. All of our therapists are intensively trained in DBT. The DBT program at Oasis is broken down into three components:
- Weekly skills training group to teach and practice DBT skills.
- Weekly individual therapy sessions
- Telephone coaching
The four core areas of DBT skills that are taught include:
- Interpersonal Effectiveness
- Emotional Regulation
- Distress Tolerance
Do you accept insurance?
Therapeutic Oasis of the Palm Beaches does not accept insurance, which means we are an out-of-network provider. If you insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, our office is able to submit claims on your behalf. Otherwise, we can provide you with a statement that you may use to file your own claims. Please note that when you submit claims, your insurance company will require a mental health diagnosis, which will become a permanent part of your medical record. Also, keep in mind that each insurance plan has different deductibles, co-insurances, and reimbursement rates for out-of-network providers.
